Places of Study: College of Purna Yoga
Styles: Gentle, alignment-based hatha yoga.
Focus: My focus is on teaching a strong foundation in yoga asanas with correct alignment to facilitate the flow of energy in the body. The work of asana opens the body, frees the breath, and ultimately leads to a calmer, more focused mind. My teaching emphasizes feeling rather than force and exploration rather than acheivement.
Heartbeat: Yoga has given me a new appreciation for the breadth and depth of my heart--how to feel it and trust it, and how to access the wisdom it contains.
Gift: The practice of asanas opens and awakens the body so it is easier to feel more present and at home in it. The deepest gift of yoga is the connection to the spirit through the body.
Blessing: "When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace, and love." Thich Nhat Hanh
Namaskaras: I am grateful for my yoga teachers, family, friends, and community, and for the earth that supports us all.
